The No. 8 (AP Poll) ranked Florida Gators are home again this week against the South Florida Bulls. Believe it or not, this is the first time in history these two schools have faced off. The Vegas books have Florida as -16.5 point favorites ... not quite as much as they had us over Miami. Remember, USF has beat a couple decent teams in the past few years including Florida State. Sure, USF doesn't have Jason Pierre-Paul and several other top defensive players anymore, but they won't be a pushover. After the scare we had last week, I'd expect the Gators to be on top of their game. Kickoff is at 12:21 pm ET
It sounds weird saying this, but after last week's offensive performance the Gators have a lot to prove on Saturday. We really need to see them move the ball. They don't have to score 60 points or get a first down on every series ... but we need to see more positive gains. We need to see Pouncey snap the ball with confidence, we need to see Brantley connect with the receivers and we need to see our running backs hold onto the ball.
I'm not worried too much about our defense. Guys like Jaye Howard, Ahmad Black, AJ Jones and Janoris Jenkins will take care of business.
-DID YOU KNOW?-
Florida and USF were the only two teams in the country to record four interceptions in the opening week, and Janoris Jenkins’ 67-yard interception return for a touchdown was the longest interception return in the nation during Week One.
I'm predicting the Gators will win this game 38-10 ... putting up a solid performance, but still showing some signs of weakness. USF will prove to be a tougher opponent and help get the Gators ready for SEC play the following week. What do you think the final score will be?
