Some GOOD News: Kelvin Taylor commits to Gators

Yep--he made his announcement this morning (Sat., Feb.18) and things went "how they're supposed to", for a change. Now, with Jones already here and a year under his belt (he's gonna be a bruiser with speed), Gillisley graduating after this season, and Lane arriving with Taylor to fill out the backfield (to put it mildly), we get a couple of bigtime WRs as targets for what will (hopefully) be an efficient and experienced QB under center, and we will have an offense that might begin to scare the opposition as much as our "D" will by then.

wr rodney adams and lb quinton powell commited too
I just heard that, too--both 4-stars (for what THAT'S worth--I mean, I'm glad they are highly thought of and all, but I trust an involved-coaching staff's recruiting acumen to judge who best suits and fits OUR team, over these general and hard-to-pin-down "finer-distinctions" between for eg. 5- and 4-, or 4- and 3-stars, ya know?), Powell part of what is becoming a steady strengthening of an already imposing defense, and Adams, of course, at a position of real need--maybe dangerously so. The two new WRs coming in this year will almost certainly get a chance to help us immediately, even WITH the ones we have coming back beginning to live up to all their promise.

another big pick up

http://espn.go.com/blog/colleges/florida/post/_/id/2797/gators-get-five-star-safety-washington

and another instate lb/de commited dillan lawson

HUGE day
Man, you're right:
Washington, Powell, Taylor, Lawson, and Keanu Neal, too, all today...that's 9 already in the 2013 class, I believe. I'm hearing that Laremy Tunsil and Vernon Hargreaves II are about to commit to us as well. The benefits of a full year of recruiting from this coaching staff is continuing to build, with next year starting to look like a potential blockbuster/windfall exceeding even 2012, great strength being added this time on BOTH sides of the line-of-scrimmage.

I don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but you can begin to see and FEEL it: we're not only going to be getting good, but STAYING good, for seasons to come. I'm starting to get the idea that it's time to be quiet in our excitement, keep it to ourselves until it really begins to assert itself, Gator dominance becoming an undeniable, unavoidable, unstoppable force by sometime I figure in the next 2 or 3 seasons. I can be patient now; I'm that confident and excited at our coming eventual success. (I enjoy the idea that our rivals and their trolls really have no idea what's happening in Gainesville, what's steadily developing and will be coming, for all of them...)

The crazy part about Kelvin Taylor is that he broke Emmitt's record and He still has another year of football to play!

I have heard both stories, that 8th grade counts because of its association with high school, and that it does not count because they need to level the playing field with other schools and other state record books.

I'm tellin' ya, one of the QBs steps forward, and with the "D" we've already got brewing in G'ville PLUS an offense that can MORE than hold-its-own, we will be "good" this season and begin to be "great" by next...I believe we will begin to absolutely DOMINATE sometime in the latter part of 2013, and be an "irresistible force" by the season after, 2014, beginning-to-end--and for sometime to come. Of course, I could stand to be "surprised" and have them "arrive" a little sooner than expected, but as I say, I feel we can afford to be patient now. SHshsh...let's keep this to ourselves for now; let them all continue to scoff, to sleep soundly with their assumptions about us and their comfortable "hate" out there--until it's too late, FAR too late, to do much about it when we roll them, repeatedly, without effort...

I have been saying that for years now. I am throttling my optimism this year and next year.

That's the safe way to go and serves the greater purpose, as I see it, which is to quietly sit back and let it happen--most of all, let it creep up on the haters, our own impatient, whining ranters and all our rivals--until it finally and unmistakably HITS.
I mean it E-: I've never BEEN this confident about our eventual over-the-top success...it's just a matter of time now, as I read it, and though it's uncertain, it is still manageable. Again: "good" and getting better THIS year, starting to show "great" next year, and "dominant" for seasons to come thereafter. That's my imprecise prediction, and I'll just have to be patient enough to see it all through without "losing it" from time-to-time along the way (something I won't promise, obviously).
Whatever it takes for any of us to stay calm and enjoy the ride along the way, I support.

I feel more confident about next year. This year, I see a top five defense and a top 40 offense. Next year I see a top five defense and a top 15 offense.

Think about what THAT might mean in terms of relative strength in the SEC, and on the NATIONAL level...and it's only going to get stronger, I think.

Man, you guys are crazy. I have no idea who any of these guys are. :p And what's more, I couldn't tell you who we SHOULD be going after. I can barely keep up with the guys we have now.

Must be a bad fan. Or a Canadian... one of the two. :)

(laughing) Aww, man--it IS a kind of "craziness"...as for these latest guys we got on Junior Day, the thing is that they're ALL FLORIDA, born and bred, and this time we've started out "kicking @$$ and taking names" as far as grabbing all the top players in Florida ahead of our instate rivals, the ones that are WILLING to commit this early, anyway.
As for how we know and follow 'em, believe me: the info. is OUT there and available on the internet now...all it takes is the time and inclination to go looking for it. The question is, of course, do you WANT to ? Why would you want to? ...and so on--all questions the folks here, myself included, can answer, but most of us understand that it's not an obsession entered into lightly--or best recommended in the first place. Myself, I just sort of sidled on up to it, kept wanting to know more, kept wondering how OTHER people knew things I didn't, and/or long before most ANYONE did, and after a while, I was one of them too. Bad fan? Canadian? Doesn't matter in the slightest, all beside the point: Are you perfectly happy and content without this "need to know"--or at least are pretty sure that whatever dissatisfaction you feel has nothing to do with who the latest Gator-prospects are, and how that may play into our future success? Then just back away, leave it alone. Don't start. That way lies madness. Maybe there's a "program" for it...if I ever want to be "cured".
