The Lame kitten thread

Maybe this might have something to do with it.........
He moved to Florida as strength coordinator from 1998-2001
This is nothing more than a soap opera. But somehow it's still funny.
I think the fascination is lame's self-destructive behavior. It's a primal response for us, (finding it funny when our fellow cave dweller tripped over a rock). Slowing down in traffic to get a glimpse of a wreck, etc.
He is just getting started and will keep us entertained for a long time, or until u of t realizes their collective colossal mistake.

Apparemtly Lame never learned anything from his experience at Oakland, and those who fail to remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin joined the show to discuss the transition back to college football and what to expect from the Vols this season.
- Kiffin has been on the job for four months so far and it's going well. He's got a top recruiting class and good coaches to work with.
-Bryce Brown is the highest-rated player in the history of Tennessee football and Kiffin is excited to have landed him. It's a big coup for the school since he was so highly recruited.
-Dan asks Kiffin if he regrets anything from his first four months on the job. Kiffin doesn't take the bait and says he's trying to do things a little differently than before and to improve the recruiting process at Tennessee to lure in top players.
-Kiffin also points out that state of Tennessee doesn't produce a team full of top-tier talent so he has to go out of state to find great players. He has a Top 10 recruiting class so he's excited about the coming season.
-Pete Carroll, Kiffin's former boss at USC, was a major influence in his career. He learned everything from the importance of staying upbeat to recruiting tools to snatch top-tier players.
-Kiffin admits that he's a little afraid of Pat Summitt because she's such a coaching legend, but it's great to have her at the school and as a resource for the program.
-Kiffin can't comment on the Raiders situation because it's being handled be the NFL, but he thinks the experience was great because he learned about the business and would like to get back into the league at some point down the road.
-Lastly, Kiffin admits that his wife is a former Gator and a Tim Tebow fan. That is difficult for the Vols coach to deal with.
From the Dan Patrick show.

Awesomeness
^^^ That's some great stuff from SOS. I watched Jarvis Miles a little but in high school. He should be pretty good for the Gamecocks. That would be ultimatie humiliation for Kiffin and his staff.

From a post by a member of GC who is at Destin.
I'm in Destin where the SEC is holding its Spring Meetings. Yesterday afternoon I was talking to a couple of prominent women's basketball coaches when the subject of Lane Kiffin came up. One of the coaches (I'll withhold her name out of courtesy) asked, "Is he the goofy looking guy who looks like he's 12 years old who's always wandering around all by himself?"

Oakland Raiders, who have waged their own public relations war against their former coach, sent ESPN possibly the funniest team statement of all time:

“Lane Kiffin is a flat-out liar. He lied to the team, he lied to the fans and he lied to the media. He will try to destroy that university like he tried to destroy the Raiders and will eventually clash with (Pat) Summitt and (Bruce) Pearl.”

“Other than that, the Raiders can say nothing further.”

Can Kiffin really be that clueless?
Ultimately, though, this pattern of rules violations falls on Athletic Director Mike Hamilton. So far, Hamilton has laughed at Kiffin's outrageous statements, shaken his head like the parent of a precocious - if obnoxious - kid and taken the stance that any publicity is good publicity. But it is Hamilton's job to make sure his coaches know the rules. It is Hamilton's job to make sure his coaches follow the rules. It was Hamilton's responsibility - via his staff - to step in and say, "Stop!" when ESPN asked to film the recruit meeting Kiffin.

Either Hamilton can't or won't reign in Kiffin. All these little things will eventually add up to something big. Kiffin isn't clueless. But it is becoming increasingly obvious that he doesn't care about playing by the rules which reveals a lot more about his character than Hamilton will ever admit. This, Vol fans, is not going to end well.
