Wasn't Elway a Tebow supporter?

Now he wants to replace him when there a bigger need on Defense. If they draft Newton or Gabbert, I want to go the Denver and punch Elway and get the heck out of there because the Denver PD would beat me down.

There are a lot of theories on this. Some say he supported Tebow early on in order to not rock the boat. I doubt he ever liked Tebow's passing mechanics and I think he is jealous or feel threatened by the notoriety of an untested rookie. If he drafts Newton, then that would be stupid--both have bad mechanics, both like to run, and both will surprise with accuracy and poise. Gabbard looks better, but he is not worth sacrificing defensive 1st round picks.

Either way, Denver is a mess. Elway won't fix that in one year. This is not a good draft year for QBs. This is a draft year for defense, and Denver needs defense.

I don't think Elway was ever a Teebow supporter. :(

I can see Teebow getting benched this season. But like Escambia said, Denver has a number of other issues besides QB. Going to be a rough year for Denver over all.

The QB depth is pretty deep in the draft this year. Denver won't use their first pick for a QB, but they might look for one in the second round.

Once things get settled in the NFL, the Broncos might be looking to trade Tebow though. :(

First of all, this year's QB-"crop" is actually lean in terms of deserving 1st-rounders; all kinds of value in the subsequent rounds, though. Second, Elway looks like a walking demonstration of the idea that just 'cause you played the position doesn't mean you can coach it, or even judge the relative worth of newer guy coming along--too much personal baggage can cloud the issues.
What looked like the right situation for TT (with a young coach of vision and tenacity walking his own road, who believed in #15) has drastically changed. We can only hope that if this new regime doesn't value him and won't give him even a chance at developing and proving himself, circumstances will unfold in such a way that Tim can at least eventually land somewhere else that will.
He WILL work hard, continue to learn, grow and improve himself, and some day be ready, if and when he's called upon to take the field and lead his team, however that comes about. WE know this about him, even if folks like Elway (latest in a long line of naysayers) have forgotten both the general value of that level of commitment, and Tebow's very real on-field talent AND will-to-win.

I do not think anyone questions how hard Teebow works. He worked hard last year on all his mechanics. Just hard to translate his success in college to success in the NFL. I have gotten my hopes up for some NFL prospects to only be let down later. Not saying that is going to be what happens with Teebow, but I am always careful until I see it in action.

But to be fair to Teebow, he needs to have a full year of starting in the NFL to see what kind of talent he really has. This whole Elway thing is really going to cause problems or hamper his potential in the NFL.

OK I can breath. Didn't feel like flying to Denver spending hundreds of dollars anyway.

I have to say, I really thought that you were going to have to put your money where your mouth is and fly down to Denver. But your travel plans seem safe, they didn't draft a new QB. I still do not know what that means for Tewbow. Guess we going to have to wait and see.

I'd like them to sort this out quickly, as I have plans with my father-in-law to go see Tebow in Denver. Even if I'd have to sit through a Bears game (Packer-backer, here), I'd do it to watch Tebow.

Wherever he winds up, though, if he's starting, I'll go. And I'll still wear my Gators #15.

Just... don't make me go to Oakland. Arrrrrgh.......
