Why isn't anyone mad at Denote Thompson?

He started all this by saying "It's nice to have a REAL quarterback!" Maybe he was a REAL Receiver and didn't drop passes, Tebow would have passed the ball at his direction a little more. Like to see Will Hill knock him into next week, or the Linebackers whopping his @$$, or Urban Meyer breaking his arms since he can't catch a cold.

Cmon now, you know Deonte didn't mean a REAL quarterback. He meant traditional. One who sits in the pocket and goes through reads. He said himself in the interview that Tebow is a living legend. I know the kid hasn't lived up to his 5 star potential, but thats nothing new. Hopefully he starts stepping up and will be the #1 receiver this year. However, I don't think he will. I think Chris Rainey will have more catches than him. But that's neither here nor there. The guy hasn't had many interviews since he's been in Gainesville, and he chose his words poorly, thats all it boils down to.

Yeah, I'm content to give him the benefit of the doubt, if only slightly. He does talk about having been forgotten by Tebow, but I guess... well, who can blame Tebow? When you're having success like he was, stay with what works, right?

Anyway, a lot can be forgiven if you run your mouth once, but then play unselfishly with everything you've got the rest of the time.

At first I was mad at Deonte for saying "Real QB" - but then when I actually read the entire article I think he just meant a more traditional style QB that stays in the pocket. It was just a poor choice of words.

Deonte Thompson did nothing wrong; he was only making a comparison in styles between Tebow's and Brantley's. Timmy himself stated that he took no offense to what Deonte said, but all the stir was caused by none other than the media.
