Many teams have multiple start-able QBs on the scholarship roster. Florida has not been in this situation in a while, at least not with a stable coaching situation. The 2007 Gators had 5-star QBs Tim Tebow and Cam Newton, plus 4-star QB John Brantley. The 1993 Gators had 4-star-equivalent QB Terry Dean and 5-star-equivalent QBs Eric Kresser and Danny Wuerffel. The 1999 Gators had 5-star QBs Rex Grossman and Brock Berlin.
Look at Ohio State. At one time, they had three 4 or 5 star QBs start in one season! I would love to see Feleipe Franks, Jacob Eason, and Kyle Trask all compete for the position against Treon Harris, Will Grier, and Luke Del Rio.
Grier has another issue in that he has no choice but to stay with Florida and try to win back his starting job in the middle of 2016, or transfer elsewhere and fight for a starting position in 2017.
